With the impending doom of the CoronaVirus hanging above all of our heads, you best believe that I've been diving headfirst into a pit of binge-watching in order to cope. So without further adieu, here’s my top Netflix shows to keep you sane through self-isolation.
Next In Fashion
Like literally every British Millennial of a certain age I have a love affair with Alexa Chung. So when I saw she’d be gracing us with her presence on Netflix’s answer to Project Runway I was automatically sold! However, don’t let my bias for literal human goddess Miss Chung fool you, this show manages to produce some serious fashion punches between its range of strong competitors and designer guest judges.
All in all, it’s a great showing for a first season and I hope it gets commissioned for a second.
Rupaul’s Drag Race
Oh Henny! You want to see reality TV at its finest, well look no further! The show that inspired a whole generation to flood my Insta feed with questionable drag looks is back and bigger than ever! With a huge catfish controversy that saw one potential finalist being disqualified (we’re looking at you Allison Mossey) this is sure to be a season of gag-worthy twists.
The Witcher
Is it good? Is it bad? Or do we all just want to flip the male gaze on Geralt for a whole season? Who can say? All I know is that it’s a fun and slightly sexy romp through the fantasy genre.
Love Is Blind
Are you suffering from depression due to a distinct lack of Love Island on your TV screen? Well strap in honey, this show is ready to give you a much-needed shot of romance based reality TV. Posing as a social experiment to once and for all determine whether love can indeed be blind, this emotional roller coaster of a show will have you hooked within 30 minutes.
Glow Up
Did someone say a reality TV show for the Insta generation? Why yes they did! Originally airing on BBC Three, this British reality show that aims to find the next top makeup artist is a fun and entertaining look into the varied world of the makeup industry. Seriously, as someone who’s makeup routine consists of faux freckles far too much highlighter and block eyebrows James Charles circa 2006 would be ashamed of, the craftsmanship displayed in this show amazed me.
So there you have it, these are my top Netflix picks! So happy self-isolation and stay safe my little jokesters!
